From sautéing veggies to selling judges on a sweets shop, campers tackled new challenges with style and smiles at ������Ƶ this summer. 

������Ƶ’s summer camps registered a combined total of 175 campers, with offerings including race car technology at the West Harnett Restoration Center and cooking camps at both the Lee and Chatham main campuses. 

Other options on the Lee Main Campus included dental health, volleyball, electronics engineering, and entrepreneurship. 

At LEAP (Learning Entrepreneurship through Action and Play) Camper Lindzey D. Carrera was part of a team that won acclaim from judges for their business presentation pitching their concept for a multicultural candy store. 

“You make good friends and you enjoy it,” she said of her experiences with the camp run by ������Ƶ’s Small Business Centers. 

In addition to these camps, the college’s Chatham Health Sciences Center was also the host location for UNC’s Camp Med Chatham. Representatives from ������Ƶ’s healthcare programs across the college’s service area teamed up with UNC to help Chatham high school students explore options for healthcare careers. 

“For us, summer camps are about so much more than keeping kids busy for a week,” said Meggan Pollard, Events and Engagement Coordinator for the ������Ƶ Foundation. “They are an opportunity to introduce young people to new experiences, build confidence, and discover interests they may carry with them for years to come. Watching those moments of excitement and curiosity unfold is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we're proud to help inspire the next generation of learners.”
